Meet The Artist

Ross Jones is a contemporary New Zealand artist whose work explores storytelling through richly layered, cinematic paintings. Working from his studio in Snells Beach, Auckland, he builds carefully constructed scenes that sit between reality and imagination, where everyday objects, landscapes and figures are transformed into moments of narrative and emotional depth.

His practice draws on a wide visual language - from vintage toys and constructed environments to expansive coastal and inland landscapes - each used as a vehicle to explore ideas of memory, time, and perception. Rather than presenting literal narratives, Ross creates open-ended scenes that invite the viewer to form their own interpretations, often revealing multiple meanings the longer they are observed.

Alongside his original paintings, Ross Jones produces limited edition fine art prints that retain the depth, texture and tonal sensitivity of his studio practice. These editions make his work accessible to a wider audience while maintaining the integrity and detail of the original artworks. Presented as museum-quality gallery prints, each work is produced to exacting standards, ensuring a faithful translation of colour, atmosphere and surface from original to edition, designed for collectors who value both visual impact and long-term archival quality.
